Bridges

Dental bridges are a great way to replace missing teeth. Your existing teeth are used to literally create a bridge to cross the area where your tooth is missing. Bridges are made from gold, metal, alloys, or porcelain to ensure that they are strong and durable.

The process of creating a bridge begins by preparing the teeth on either side of the missing tooth or teeth. After the teeth are prepared, an impression is taken. This impression is sent to our dental lab. The lab uses the impression to create a bridge that will have the look and feel of natural teeth.

We will place a temporary bridge while we wait for our lab to craft your permanent bridge. This will protect the prepared teeth.  You will have a follow up visit to place the bridge. It will be placed over the prepared teeth and cemented into place.
The bridge may take a little while to get used to, but after a few days it should feel comfortable.

If you are missing a tooth/teeth you should strongly consider having it replaced. Besides the aesthetic concerns of  missing a tooth/teeth, it may cause structural changes to your mouth and/or it may make it difficult to eat or speak properly.
